Jane has had the best time this summer with her little princess fishing pole. She caught some great ones at our Reynolds reunion a few weeks ago. Working with some super fun Reminise papers from their Bubbly line for some DT work for Scraptales.`Put this together with her awesome fish photo and some of the papers and stickers from the line. Few pop-dots under some of the fish, and some stickles. Super cute stuff!
So, I constantly check the weather channel website (don't watch tv and don't get the paper (does anybody anymore?)). When I saw this week's challenge on These Are A Few of My Favorite Things (what is your fav website/blog), I thought it would be fun to do the weather channel site. Little of this and that, and this is what I came up with: printed a forecast for my town on some cardstock, and the site logo on photo paper. Some super fun umbrella paper and some rainbow papers that I've been holding on to from K&Co. Little kraft paper (my 12x12 printer--trying to use it a little more--made a cool type border), and some embellishment suns and clouds with raindrops, a stamped calendar with a cut-out umbrella, a journaling block I picked up recently (managed to get that through my printer as well), and a few pop-dots. (It's been raining a ton here lately, so the umbrellas are really in my mind!)
Just finished up another DT layout for ScrapTales...used more of the BG Origins line. It is seriously so yummy! I'm enjoying doing some layouts with photos from different years. This one chronicles our life--Mike and I meeting in 1995 @ MSU...to now-2010 with 2 adorable girls. It's funny to me how on one hand it doesn't feel like it's been 15 whole years since we met, and on the other it seems like he's just always been a part of my life. It's also funny to think...there I was sitting on the couch of some guy's dorm room...flashforward and we've been married 10 years, 2 cats, 2 girls, and in our 2nd house. Crazy.
Anyway, lots of sewing on this layout, journaling spots from the Origins line.
Well, I've been wanting to show what I've been working on with my goodies from ScrapbookCircle. I'm just LOVING the stuff from Girls Paperie; it was all new to me...and it was perfect for the photos from the trip I just took with my girls...and my mom...and my grandma. Four generations girls trip; I'm so lucky, and I'm so glad that my girls get to spend time with their grandma and great-grandma. We went up to Michigan's thumb for just a couple of days. I've had these little car shaped chipboard albums in my drawer for awhile, and when I saw the map paper and travel embellies-perfect! I also used some free downloaded travel journaling spots from this month's ScrapbooksEtc Magazine. Lots of sanding of paper and photos, and I used a photo marker to do all the black lines and journaling. I printed the journaling spots on photo paper, so it's a bit glossy. Used some of the tags and diecuts for the wheels on some (as well as the requisite starbucks logo for our breakfast page!). The little word stickers are just perfect for this mini-album. They let me get some 'comments' onto the pages without having to write too much. I also used some of these on an album I just made for my husband. We celebrated TEN years last night-isn't that awesome?! I still need to take a photo of that album and upload it...it's simple, just a page with a b/w photo from each of the 10 years we've been married, but I used a few of these stickers on each page as well. Anyway, I've got a couple more pages of this car album to get finished, but probably won't happen til after all the celebrating for 4th of July this weekend. I wanted to give some ideas if you're working on any travel or vacation photos this summer! When it's all finished, I'll post a pic of the rest of the pages, and the whole album sitting together. I'm super excited to have it out in my living room to flip through this summer.
We're summer busy around here...you know how you always think longingly for summer during the cold winter months? Imagining all the relaxing in the warm weather? And then summer finally gets here...and we're BUSY. Busy with trips and visiting and celebrating, which is all so fun. The packing and unpacking: not so much fun!
Anyway, got back from a trip last week, and we're off for fun with family and friends this weekend. Just wanted to pop on here and get a few things up that I've been working on here and there. This is just a quick layout with some of the diecut paper I've been holding on it...and a photo of DD that I've also been holding on to. She's so amazing here. I stuck with the pink and orange from her dress (that Gram made!). Added some little glitter dots and stitched on some clear letters for the title. I think this might be a new fav color combo for me!
I'm a SAHM with two beautiful little girls, an awesome husband, two cats, and a house we're slowing making into our dream home.
I love to play with photos and save our memories, and I am fascinated with cutting pieces of fabric and creating something useful and beautiful. Handmade makes me happy.
