Patriotic Pinwheels

Loving the Stars & Stripes line from Reminisce. I made my first pinwheels from a couple of sheets of it. Super fun with the two sided paper. I put the rest of the pinwheels individually into frappucino jars. My newish butterfly punch was also sitting on my desk, so some patriotic butterflies got punched and glued around the ribbon.

I made these using 5" squares. Cut in from each corner approx. 3 inches, but don't go all the way to the center. I glued the points down then pierced a hole, I used wire through my buttons and attached in back with a bead. Some spin better than others...

LOVE that cropodile--one more thing it can punch cleanly through--tongue depressor sized popsicle sticks--no cracking, just a lovely little hole.

I used some clear buttons in the centers; I backed the buttons with patterned paper or some of the stickers from this line. Completely custom-made matching embellishments.

So, try your hand at some pinwheels, they're pretty addicting once you get going! I made some mini ones for my Memorial Day Layout, using my 1 1/2 inch square punch. Hoping to have that layout in Scraptales by middle of next week if you want to check them out in person.

It's coming!

Lots of good stuff to post, just have to get good light for photos. Hopefully I'll find some time tomorrow. Picked up my Scrap Tales Design Team pack yesterday and yummmmy stuff to work with. Started with the Reminisce Stars & Stripes, have the bones of a patriotic layout all ready for my pictures from Monday's Memorial Day parade (please don't rain, please don't rain). I've been wanting to make some pinwheels for the longest time and when I saw this double sided paper, it was just what I'd been waiting for.

So. Much. Fun.

Teacher gift

Daughter's last day of pre-school--she goes to a pre-school within a high school, so she has a bunch of 'student' teachers. Made a group gift for the kids-studio g squirrel stamp, DCWV papers, and peanuts in an IKEA container. Turned out kind of fun.

Cleaning & organizing

As soon as my scrap area is done...I'll get to scrapping and posting some stuff. It's been slow going! I'm seeing the light (I mean the carpet) so there is hope! Finally split my blog into a family one and a scrapbooking one.

Mother's Day Tea Invitations

We're having tea at Tyme Well Spent for Mother's Day. I made these invitations for my Mom and Grandma's. Covered each dress with a vellum 'skirt' and pop-dotted the dress. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!
