BigLittle Cape Test

I tested a Cape for BigLittle patterns.  It is just so much fun!  I used a cheapy synthetic velvet material from my stash. I can't say it was fun to wrestle with while sewing, but the drape and sheen are pretty fantastic, especially with Halloween coming up!  This went through multiple rounds of testing and comes with different length and hood options, and it is easy to adapt!    I made a long unlined cloak length with a rounded hood for a Little Red Riding costume, and it's fantastic.  She loves the drama of it.

Costume time!

I kinda dread Halloween sometimes.  I love to sew, but costumes...bah.  Worked out this year with a little cat and little red!  I used the SS Tobago with some craaaazy fun fur and added a tail.  Super cute!

Went out of my pdf pattern comfort zone and attempted my first paper pattern...did a trial with a sheet I'd intended for some jammy nightgowns, but we decided it was perfect for the costume (can you say WIN??).  It wasn't that bad once I figured it out, and I'm excited to have a base for future dresses as she's kind in that tween stage, which isn't that easy to fit!

Newborn Set=utter cuteness!

I made a newborn set for one of my husband's coworkers.  It's adorable and gosh I miss those wee tiny days! The hat reverses to the grey, perfect for newborn pictures.

I wasn't sewing much when mine were infants, but I would have loved to dress them up in something like this.

I take custom orders for things like this via facebook or etsy.

Crochet Play

I kinda love that my girls happily play in their dresses. I've never been much for making things to sit in a box or on a hanger. Use them. Love them. Play in them!

This one is kinda special, as I used a crocheted collar that my Mom she's got a dress made by Mom and Grandma!  Doesn't get much better than lots of handmade love.

Sophie Tunics for all seasons!

I love the Sophie Tunic. I decided to try making a summer sleeveless version with bias tape, and it came out so adorable.  We needed the next size up, but this one will probably be roomy next spring as well!

While the pattern was out...decided to make one up for fall with this soft corduroy print we found.  It's so comfy, I want one!

Tobago mania

I saw a tutorial for cutting up the Tobago and was inspired to make a few summer dresses. I love how quick that pattern is (seriously, 4 dresses in a matter of days) but also love having a go-to bodice and a more fun skirt portion. I think my favorite of these all is the space dress, came out so cool!

Jane loves hers, especially the one I used lace on for a challenge, pretty, fancy, and I finally did a strip-work skirt as well!

Knit Dress Success

Finally took the knit leap by testing the Audriella Dress. It came out quite lovely and wasn't that big of a deal to sew it! Kinda funny that we got a warm-up with our temperatures outside, even though we still have a ton of snow. I promise she's not freezing!

Paint party

So, birthday dress for paint party...didn't come out quite like I wanted. It's a Bishop style, and while I thought it looked super cute, it's really puffy; I kinda think I can now sew choir robes! Le-sigh. Looked cute with the apron from Gram Nomi, though!

Valentine's Day tunic

Super love Sisboom's sophie tunic. Youngest found a random remnant...we're going to an aquarium at the end of the month...she insists it's for that and not Valentine's Day, but she let me snap a picture!

Prairie Girl

We've been working our way through the Little House on the Prairie series at bedtime this winter. The girls decided they needed bonnets and Laura & Mary dresses. So cute! Used a great tutorial from Given Moment's blog for the bonnet.
