I've been wanting to do some challenges, and I came across a fantastic new site while reading ScrapStreet Magazine: These Are a Few of My Favorite Things. I've been wanting to do a layout about my crocs since I bought them, and this was the perfect motivation. I also am constantly reading the PageMaps Blog and I use PageMaps all the time. I used the current sketch contest for my Crocs layout....so it's two in one!
I really enjoyed doing a layout just for me; I love doing family stuff and holidays, but this was a chance to be creative just for the sake of being creative. I'm super excited about how it came out. I tried to keep it simple with just blue tones to go with the shoes. Printed my journaling and sewed on a few bits of some blue paper from my scrap bin. I then went searching for some embellies; you ever have one of those moments where you're searching for something...and you find something else? Something that is just so perfect? How about some blue (!) feet paper clips when you're working on a layout about comfy shoes?? I was so excited, kind of silly, but just completed the layout for me. Did some sewing on chipboard for the first time to attach my little flower border, and adhered some sequins at the top of the photo the same way.
Thanks for checking out my work, and I'm excited about both contests!
I'm a SAHM with two beautiful little girls, an awesome husband, two cats, and a house we're slowing making into our dream home.
I love to play with photos and save our memories, and I am fascinated with cutting pieces of fabric and creating something useful and beautiful. Handmade makes me happy.
